Cap: Tues.
Media Press Conference 4-21-09
Media mediator: “We have Cap today for his weekly press conference. Please ask your questions one at a time.
”
Reporter 1: “Cap, breakdown last night’s win.
”
Cap: “It was classic MLG right there. We won by 14 points on Asylum. The best breakdown for last night’s game was Dogs. I stress dogs because the team that gets dogs usually wins. I got them on Asylum and they are the actual reason we won. My dogs got 8 kills and I owe a big salute to those motherfuckers. We likely would have lost that match had my dogs not destroyed their camping ways. They got dogs on Hangar and beat us then we got multiple artilleries on Roundhouse. The team played a hell of a match and finished them off in the third round. I’m very proud of all our guys, no offense to lady. I think we stayed composed. We didn’t let the big W go to our heads. We know we have a lot of work to do. We have areas to improve in and this is just the beginning of what is an extremely tough and grueling season.
”
Reporter 2: “What are you guys doing differently as a team from last year’s team?”
Cap: “I think everyone on this team understands the difficulty of this league. I think the maturity plays a key role as well as they listen. Last year’s squad was a bunch of talkers. We don’t need talkers. We need listeners. People who soak in what is said and implement it into their game. Remember here at V we run a system. People have a place, a duty, and a responsibility. The younger crew last year couldn’t get that part down. They ran around like a bunch of idiots and we paid heavily with our record. The personnel make V what it is. It’s all of us being one. Not one of us being all. It takes a team to win a team game.
”
Reporter 3: “Explain what it is like to have the headset on and calling out targets as you do.
Are the radio-waves very active? What types of things do you hear on there?”
Cap: “Ha, well its all fun and dandy until Biz starts his comedy tour, but we’ve learned to deal with it. No, that’s shows you how loose we are and comfortable we are. I think we have a good locker-room full of good people. On the other hand, it’s intense to be on the headset because it’s always game time with those on. You call out a target and you just want to see him go down. Every second he lives on from that point he becomes more of a threat to us, so we try to deal with them quickly and efficiently. The airwaves are always busy. Whether it’s Biz’s jokes or visuals it’s always active. You gotta keep your eyes and ears open in this league. We do just that.
”
Reporter 4: “Cap, when will we have full access to the front office and team?”
Cap: “The front office will hold mandatory weekly press conferences. The leaders will do their part when instructed to do so and that will be a twice-weekly press conference minimum. The members are not required to do so unless otherwise specified.
”
Reporter 5: “Cap, we know you pride yourself on not dying much. You might even be the most elusive player in the league when it comes to being killed.
How have you been so strong in the opening rounds of the matches? How do you do it?”
Cap: “Well, if I tell you my game plan then it’s not much of a secret is it? Bottom line is I hold my post. It’s kind of like king of the mountain. How long can you hold your post before someone knocks you down? I do pride myself on not dying often. I’m sure there are even more evasive players out there. I’ve been so strong on the opening rounds because my teammates have done their part. They cover me well and I thank them for that. It’s a team game and it takes all of us to get the job done. Together, I’ve been able to do my thing.
”
Reporter 6: “Will there be anymore roster changes or do you think this is the final roster?”
Cap: “That will remain to be seen. You never know what the next day brings, so don’t worry about what you can’t control. Live it up with what you got. Right now that is our roster and right now we’ll play with it. The core is good. It’s a wicked bench to look at on paper. Things are falling into place nicely. I’m glad for those guys that I was able to scout and draft them. I think we here at V and them themselves made a good choice. Let’s just say it fits nicely.
Proud of this team!”
Media mediator: “Thanks Cap for your time and cooperation.
”
Cap: “Yezzir! Oh, and I like it wire-cutter tight *smiles* Grazie!”
